small classic French Country style home
description
Small French Country styled home with spacious interior feel is located on the shores of Okanagan Lake in Kelowna BC.Early morning and south light determined some of the basic roof design so that the interior of the house would be bright an sunny inside despite having a steep hill behind and a predominantly west facing lake view.
The upper floor is carefully designed to fit largely within the flowing roof space in order to retain the look and feel of a single level home. With restricted space on the lake side (setbacks) a spacious sun patio was created on the east end of the house, complete with outdoor stone fireplace and pergola enclosure.
Thick walls, large wood posts (solid), rich stone and recessed windows complete the idiom of the French Country style in this house. The interior is richly finished of with wood cabinetry, wood beams and exposed trusses, a genuine rumford fireplace and wide floor planks.
Superb lake views through the ample windows provide a comfortable and warm home environment.
